Thank for your kind words & prayers these weeks after Dad's passing.
Bill Sr. passed away at Loma Linda VA. He was part of the hospice care program there and fortunately Dad passed away peacefully. He was 84. Dad specifically asked that there be no "big memorial", but he did ask for his ashes to be spread at sea from the Lane Victory. There will be a small memorial service for him on the September 26th cruise.
During Dad's life in the mountains, many remember Bill as our Barton Flats Resident Deputy. Dad loved the patrol work and being able to visit with the townsfolk and camp managers from about 1962 to 1978. I know he also loved the residents & workers in his patrol area including Mentone, Mill Creek Canyon, Seven Oaks, & all the way to Onyx Summit. Along with search & rescue coordination with the San G team & Valley of the Falls teams, & Camp Angelus Fire here in the mountains, Dad also loved the work with the heavy ship & the challenge of rigging & the joy of working with the Lane Victory Deck Crew and spent his retirement days with your amazing organization. Again; thanks for the many kind words & prayers for Dad & our family.

This little lady makes a great difference aboard ship. Going through the line into the galley to fill up our plates she is always there with a great big smile to go along with the goodies she has turned out for us. Love you to pieces, Mom. Thanks for taking care of us. And thanks for that great big smile!!!
