The Gift Shop (Nautical Term: Slop Chest) is in a small forward section of No. 4 Tween Deck. It offers a variety of merchandise pertaining to the ship and related maritime activities, such as

 golf shirts, caps, tee shirts, wine glasses, and beer mugs, all of which bear the Lane Victory, Tanker Man, Armed Guard, or related service logos.

The slop chest carries post cards with the Liberty Ship, Victory Ship, and T2 Tankers on them, as well as jacket arm patches for Armed Guard, D-Day Invasion, Indian Ocean, Pacific Ocean, North Atlantic, South Atlantic, Pearl Harbor, Philippines and Guadalcanal theaters and campaigns.

Tapes are also available. One is by Huell Houser, and is a thirty minute narrative of one of our summer cruises to Catalina Island. Another is The Men Who Sailed The Liberty Ships, about the men who sailed the North Atlantic to Russia (The Murmansk Run). There are books, including The Last Victory by Capt. Walter Jaffe, Homeward Bounder by F. Beaver, The Last Mission Tanker by Capt. Walter Jaffe, and many more.
