This area has been converted into a state-of-the-art machine shop. As stated above, the ship cannot go out and buy new machinery or parts. We have to repair or manufacture them in order to continue operations. In this shop their are such machines and tools as:

And many other smaller lathes, grinders, drill presses, hand tools, etc.

But the most important thing we have are the qualified men to operate these machines: most of the men have been operating this type of machinery for up to 50 years.
