Love to cook or do KP ? Our ships galley is the place for you.

At this time the galley cooks for the working crew for maybe a week each month, as well as on cruises and our annual visits to San Diego.

With more help we can provide lunch for the working crew more often.

Opportunities:

Volunteering one or more days a week, 4 to 6 hours a day

Workdays are Monday-Wednesday

200 hours of volunteer time to become a ‘Working Crew’ Member

‘Working Crew' members may be eligible to work on the cruises

                     if ok by a Department Head.

Volunteer job description:

Cook for the ‘Working Crew’

Chopping, slicing, boiling, baking

Clean up

As a volunteer in the Steward Department you might:

Making new friends

Learn about this WWII cargo ship & share it with others

                        Learning about the Merchant Marine & Naval Armed Guard

                        in time of war.
